West Africa

Africa is an enormous continent, so we have divided our areas of focus into East, West, South, and French-speaking Africa. Our ambassador for the West is Liberia’s Isaac Daye, who has been a partner with us for many years. Each partner in each nation is a strong leader who brings a unique skillset and a heart for Christ to the table.

THE SITUATION:

Libera suffered two fairly recent civil wars that lasted for 14 years, culminating in over 250,000 deaths. As a result, the country’s economy and infrastructure collapsed, causing many people to flee to neighboring countries.

OUR INITIATIVES:

• Restoration Bible and Agriculture Institute: a two-year program that teaches the Bible and Farming God’s Way

• Garri processing plant

• Women empowerment programs

• World Radio gospel broadcasting

THE SITUATION:

Ghana suffered a massive famine in the 1980s that devastated the entire country. However, its economy has since rebounded and the country’s infrastructure is intact.

THE SITUATION:

Sierra Leone seems to constantly be locked in civil unrest. Struggles with outbreaks of civil wars have lead to a lagging infrastructure and broken economy.

Although the majority of the nation is Muslim, the church has been doing well there. Radio ministry has become even more important due to recent Covid restrictions.
